After spending over 600 hours researching CFS/ME and related conditions through reading recovery stories, learning about the nervous system, the brain and the mind body connection, I began working out why people stay stuck with these devastating illnesses.

Clear patterns started to emerge. Clear evidence that many people were recovering from CFS/M.E, Long Covid, Fibromyalgia etc and that the approach they were taking had remarkable similarities.

From this I developed my own approach, called RESTAND.

The first year of my illness was a very frustrating time. The lack of clarity and diagnosis from the medical profession left me scrambling around for answers. I was moving from one thing to another without a clear understanding of why I became ill, what was going on in my body and what I needed to do to get better. It became very obvious to me and those around me, that if I was going to move forward I was going to have to find the answers myself.

In January 2023 I had enough energy to start reading and researching into the condition and did over 600 hours of research into CFS/ME and related conditions. I spent most of 2023 reading recovery stories (about 300.) I was learning about the nervous system and the brain, the mind body connection and working out why people stay stuck with these devastating illnesses. I also did an online programme and worked with two chronic fatigue specialist coaches. Clear patterns, trends and themes started to emerge. There was clear evidence that many people were recovering from CFS/M.E, Long Covid, Fibromyalgia etc and that the approach they were taking had remarkable similarities.

Following extensive research and learning from this personal journey, I created a model for recovery. This revolves around the acronym RESTAND which I used as the foundation and structure for my own recovery and is the framework that I use with all clients. RESTAND simply provides a holistic understanding of how to manage your physical symptoms and mindset.

Whilst of course I can’t guarantee a rapid full recovery, I am confident that by effectively engaging with this programme good progress will be achievable. I am confident that the RESTAND framework is an excellent holistic model that is completely focussed on regulating your dysfunctional nervous system and health.
