FAQs

How many sessions do you think that I will need?

This is a difficult question to answer as everyone has a variety of symptoms, their own story on why they became ill and are often at different stages. I would say that on average clients need between five and eight sessions spaced out over a number of months. If you are only able to commit to a few sessions then we will work on the main things that are hindering your progress. My main job is to provide you with the tools and support so that you can get to a place where you are able to manage independently.

I have viewed the website but I still have some questions. What should I do?

I would recommend that you book in for a free, initial chat. You can do this via the link on the homepage. This is the ideal opportunity to gather all the information you need, to get to know me and to be sure that I am the right person to support you on your healing journey.

I have been ill for a while and I have tried a lot of different strategies. Why is your approach going to help me when so many other things haven’t worked?

Whilst of course I can’t guarantee that you will make rapid progress, I am confident that the RESTAND Framework is an excellent holistic model that is completely focussed on regulating a dysfunctional nervous system and improving health. This is a not a short term fix and it will require commitment and determination over several months.

Do you offer any discounts for people who are struggling financially?

My hourly rate has been set at a very affordable level within the chronic illness field, however there can be some flexibility and I am happy to discuss this in our free initial chat. I am well aware that many people with these types of illnesses are unable to work or face restricted hours and may find themselves in a difficult financial situation.

How long will it take before I start seeing some improvement?

I would expect to see progress in a few weeks or months. This could relate to reduced fatigue, less pain, more energy, feeling calmer and being more positive about the future.

Is your approach standardised or will it be personalised and specific to my needs?

From my own experiences and research I have found that there are a number of generic approaches that are suitable for all clients with these type of illnesses. The work I do with clients is personalised to their needs.

How will you help me work out what I will need to do to make progress?

Initially we will be discussing why you became ill, what is going on in your body and the particular symptoms that you are experiencing. From there we will devise a personalised plan that will enable you to make progress.

I sometimes feel a bit lost and can’t see a way through. Will working with you help me to feel more positive about the future?

Yes, I am confident that this would be the case. Once clients have a sound understanding of their illness and have a clear set of actions, they begin to accept, feel hope and develop a belief that their future will look very different to their current situation.
